Classic Cocktails, Creme de cassis, White Wine

I’ll Have A Classic Kir Cocktail

I made myself a classic Kir cocktail on Mother’s Day because I’m a mom.

My husband and I sat in the backyard together sipping this delightful drink all the while discussing how f#$%ed up the world is right now, and how afraid we are that we may never recover from this horror, or even wake up from this nightmare that seems to go on forever.

That being said, it was a lovely Mother’s Day afternoon.

The classic Kir cocktail is made with only two ingredients: Aligoté (a very dry white wine from Burgundy), and crème de cassis (a blackcurrant liqueur). The trick  is to find out how sweet you want it. Adjusting the amount of crème de cassis is the way to go. I enjoy a 6 parts Aligoté to 1 part crème de cassis Kir cocktail.  I also enjoy a lot of them, so keep ’em comin’.
